2017 WERC Award Nomination Form

The WERC Awards Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn Troy

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION TO WERC IS FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 2017 BY 5:00PM

The Harriet Rifkin Leadership Award is given to an individual who personifies leadership, volunteerism, and professionalism as a way of life. This awardee demonstrates leadership in every aspect of her life - professional and personal. She has a clear vision and a distinct purpose. Her core values govern her day-to-day choices and she has a reputation for being a champion for women. She has created or been actively involved in women's initiatives in the Capital Region. These initiatives have resulted in women being increasingly independent both personally and financially. Additionally, the initiatives include those that support women's continued growth and development both as individuals and as professional women.

The WERCing Woman of Achievement Award is presented to a woman whose career path has been filled with unique transitions, unexpected challenges, and opportunities to take risks. This person has embraced change to become a successful member of our community, and serves as an excellent role model for clients served by the Capital District Women's Employment & Resource Center (WERC).

Questions for the Harriet Rifkin Leadership Award Nomination:

  2. How her actions are aligned with her vision, mission and core values?
  3. Examples of how she could be described as a champion for women.
  4. Describe initiatives for women that she began or has been involved with and their impact.
  5. List some of the initiatives which she have either begun or are/have been in a leading role.

  1. What is her career path and what makes her a success?
  2. What challenges or unique transitions has she experienced?
  3. How has she become a successful working woman?
  4. What makes her a role model for women in the community?
  5. What community involvement has she had throughout her career?

Letters of Recommendation:

Two (2) letters of recommendation are required to support this nomination. Nominations will be reviewed by the WERC Awards Selection Committee and voted on by the WERC Awards Committee members. Letters of Recommendation should be e-mailed to: awardscommittee@cdwerc.org.

Winners of the Awards will be notified no later than June 1, 2017 and their information will be used in materials prepared for the WERC Annual Awards Luncheon on October 3, 2017.
